Brazilian Bikini Waxing
So you’ve worked hard for what seems like an eternity to create what you consider to be a bikini-ready body. You sweated to the oldies, you did your tai chi, and your body is looking absolutely stunning. You picked out the perfect Brazilian bikini too. The color of it really makes your hair and eyes stand out. Not to mention flattering the chest! There’s only one thing left to do – let’s take care of that jungle down below.
Body hair isn’t as big a deal in Europe as it is in the United States. But if you are stateside, you’ll want to make sure you’re nice and smooth down there, which incidentally decreases aerodynamic drag. Getting a Brazilian bikini waxing is definitely something to consider. But there are a few things you should know about it. Let’s talk about them, shall we?
Many women mistakenly think that they need to remove as much of their pubic hair as possible before their first waxing. Not so! If your hair is very fine, leave at least 1/4″, and if your hair is very coarse, leave about 1/2″. Remember, we’re talking about hot wax here, and the wax needs something to grab onto! Also, you’ll want to make sure you’re, umm…clean, down there. Sure, you could go in for a waxing right after jogging 3 miles, but let’s have some common courtesy for the technician! Remember they’ve got a vat of hot liquid very close to your unmentionable parts!
How does it work?
The technician will have you lay down, most likely in a variety of positions so that she can reach different nooks and crannys, and apply the hot wax to your skin. Then she will place a pad on top of the still-warm wax, bonding to both the wax and your hair. Then, in one (hopefully) swift and relatively painless motion, she rips off the pad and hopefully your hair comes with it. The effects last from 3 to 6 weeks, and it does get easier with less irritation the more times you have it done. It’s even said to make the hair grow back finer in some women.
